In each drawing, I have the privlege to look at the animal or pet in extreme detail, spending hours on the fine details, in order to get the likniness perfect. The eyes are the most important. I feel like I get to develop a relationship with the animal, so that they’re immortalised in my mind. When I look at the end piece, I see the journey and memory link to each stroke. It’s like a time capsule, where looking at a whiskers lets me remember whether it was raining or shining the moment I drew it.
